The place was nice and quiet. It was off season so it wasn't very busy but it was clean and well kept. Location was great for where we wanted to go at night. I would recommend the stay, we will visit again.
Our family have been spending our Summer vacations at the Dunes Motel for the past 15+ years. We LOVE it! The rooms are comfortable for our family of four. The prices are good enough that we can afford an ocean front and listen to the ocean with the balcony door open as we seep; love how the sound stays in your head for days after. Location is great! Walk either straight onto the beach or walk up the boardwalk. Staff is always nice and accommodating. Rooms are equipped with everything we need. Can't imagine staying anywhere else at OC!!
The Dunes Hotel and Motel Trips
I have taken my sister for hér 50th Birthday.. She LOVED IT !! AND she lives in nj. and the hotel/motels there don't offer ocean front 😵all I really can say is that the Hotel and motel are worth the. Time take a vacation or even a long weekend and you will not be let down. I guarantee it.
I honestly thought this was a great budget motel. When you stay at a motel you kind of have to expect a lot less than a hotel. However, the rooms were taken care of and cleaned every day. I had no issues with the lights in the room. It was a good space for two people, bathroom was a bit tight but nothing you cant deal with. Shower was small but clean. Overall, good quality motel.
Great Stay even on Check-out Day
The accommodations lasted beyond the 11:00 am checkout time. I was allowed to leave my care in the parking lot while enjoying the day on the beach, and then I had full use of the indoor/outdoor pool in the next-door Dunes Manor high rise. They had a shower/changing area so that I could dress before heading home that night.
Best bang for your buck
I booked an oceanfront efficiency (stove w/ oven, full-sized fridge, toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, eating utensils) through Hotels. com for a 2-night mid-week stay (Sept 15-17)- with the option to cancel, without penalty, up to 3 days ahead of time. When I arrived (4 hours before "check in") I was given my parking pass and directions to the changing room in the sister hotel (The Dunes Manor) and was encouraged to take advantage of the beach - or either facility's pool. I checked in one hour "early," after calling from the beach to ascertain availability. The room was not fancy, but clean as a whistle. Everything worked the way it was supposed to; you could turn off the a/c, open the screened window and hear the ocean roar. I went "on the cheap" and had brought a homemade pot pie to bake the first night. The room had some pots and pans, but not a baking sheet. I have no idea where they found one, but when I called the front desk, Marlene said she'd check - and 15 minutes later Willis arrived at my door with a small cookie sheet! While the nice weather contributed to a great vacation, I cannot praise the staff enough for their pleasant -- and helpful -- demeanor. Everyone I met, or spoke with, went out of his or her way to treat me like an honored returning guest - and this was my first visit and NOT an expensive motel! It's just past the end of the Ocean City Boardwalk, so it's a tad quieter and, of course, in September it SHOULD be quieter anyway. Guests at the Dunes Motel are free to use the facilities at the more upscale Dunes Manor (1/2 block north), which include indoor pool, workout room, etc. First time here --- will definitely go back again. First choice!
